Wanneer er een nieuw boek van Julia Quinn, de koningin van de historische fictie, uitkomt dan weet je dat niet veel later er een recensie op Boekhopper verschijnt. Haar boeken zijn heerlijk romantisch, hoffelijk en nemen je mee naar een andere sprankelende tijd. Quinn brengt ons dit voorjaar een nieuw boek in de Rokesby serie ‘De Rokesby’s, een onverstandig huwelijk‘, waarbij we deze keer in het leven duiken van Georgiana Bridgerton.

‘Georgiana Bridgerton is niet tégen het idee van een huwelijk, ze had gewoon gedacht dat ze er iets meer over te zeggen zou hebben. Als haar reputatie aan een zijden draadje hangt nadat ze is ontvoerd en in ruil voor haar bruidsschat pas wordt vrijgelaten, heeft Georgie twee opties: haar leven leiden als oude vrijster of trouwen met de schurk die haar leven heeft verwoest.
Maar er is nog een derde optie. Als vierde zoon van een graaf is Nicholas Rokesby van plan zijn eigen koers te bepalen. Hij heeft een leven in Edinburgh, waar hij op het punt staat zijn medische studie af te ronden, en hij heeft geen interesse in het vinden van een vrouw. Maar wanneer hij ontdekt dat Georgie Bridgerton – zijn buurmeisje – de ondergang tegemoet gaat, weet hij wat hem te doen staat: een verstandshuwelijk. Een veilige optie, want ze zouden elkaar nooit kunnen zien als iets anders dan jeugdvrienden… toch?’

‘De Rokesby’s, een onverstandig huwelijk’ is wat mij betreft het beste boek uit de serie over de buren van de Bridgerton’s. Quinn brengt ons met het verhaal over Georgie en Nicholas de perfecte afsluiter van de serie: heerlijk romantisch, humorvol en vol interessante personages! This weekend I read the heartwarming story 'Owner of a Lonely Heart' by Eva Carter. A book that made me cry and gave me all the feels!

Okay, wow this book! It has all the ingredients to make it special and Carter does just that. I loved the way we dived in to the past of the main characters, they way they are connected to each other and the flowy storyline. Also Carter's writingstyle is so captivating, she really makes you part of the story. This is a true gem!

This book, wow! I loved the romantic and enthrilling vibes in the story that will definitely keep you at the tip of you seat. Also the main character is so interesting to follow and the story buildup is as lovely as always with Swan! Definitely recommend this one!
